Vegtables

We maintain high standards and expectations for ourselves for growing food and raising animals. We plan obsessively and work hard to produce beautiful, nutrient-dense produce for our family, community, and south-central Alaska. Our sustainable and regenerative practices take care of the land while increasing organic matter and building soil. Our goal is to provide the highest quality produce and proteins available.

Eggs

Chickens and ducks run wild and free, as they should! Fed local handmade, nutritionally-balanced mix of fermented barley, oats, kelp, minerals, fish meal, aragonite and probiotics in addition to foraging and vegetables. Non-GMO, no corn, no soy.

Ferments

Chugach Farm uses fermentation as our primary way to put up and store food, and we eat ferments with every meal to improve our health. We have been growing nutrient-dense vegetables and fermenting them into delicious, nutritious ferments for over 20 years. We offer a variety of ferments including krauts, kimchi, carrot and beet ferments, hot sauce, kvass, kombucha, broccoli, cauliflower and more. If you really love ferments, inquire about our Community Supported Ferments (CSF) program.

Medicinal Herbs

All our medicinal herb products are locally grown on the farm or ethically wildcrafted in our backyard. Allie has been making herbal tea blends, tinctures, salves, liniments, and animal blends for over 25 years.

Pig Shares

We value and appreciate the pigness of the pig. Our pigs are raised happy and healthy and spend their time running in the forest, clearing new land, and adding fertility to fallow beds after cover crops. We offer pig shares on farm. We focus on “nose to tail” recipes and utilize every part of these incredible creatures.

Vegetable Soil Blocks

We start all our seeds in soil blocks and use homemade wooden trays from local spruce. Soil blocks develop stronger root systems that don’t go root bound, are easier to transplant, and produce healthier plants. Using soil blocks reduces our use of plastic and helps us achieve our carbon neutral goal.

“We have sourced our fresh produce and specialty foods from Chugach Farms for well over a decade now and we gratefully depend on their nutrient dense food to support strong vital health. We always look forward to the first bounty of late Spring when their Greens explode into our lives after a long winter with bright, life giving energy. No exaggeration! A visit to their farm reveals the extent of their passion and dedication to grow incredible food, responsibly, and intentionally, for a healthier community. We always look forward to a renewal of amazing life giving food all Summer long and well into the Fall. Thank you Allie and Jed! ”

“I am crazy about Chugach Farms products. Over the past few years I have been blessed with their greens, tomatoes, and starts. Packed with freshness and flavor, nutrition I can palpably feel when I eat them! Allie’s spicy carrot ferment and onion ferment are my favorites, well, maybe the beet. Hmmmm ... Hard to say really. Everything I’ve tried, I like."
